The Company
Unimed Electrode Supplies distributes neurophysiology consumables and accessories, including EEG, EMG, ERG, PSG and IOM electrodes and conductive pastes and gels, to NHS trusts and healthcare providers, mainly across the UK and Ireland.
It is part of the international Spes Medica group and is based in Farnham, Surrey.
The Challenge
NHS buyers expect suppliers to keep a current Carbon Reduction Plan, so PPN 006 comes round every year. After a poor experience with a larger consultancy, Unimed wanted a UK specialist that works with SMEs and would take the weight off their team.
How The Carbon Stamp Helped
A fresh baseline year
We reviewed the 2024 assessment and found purchased goods only partly covered. Together with the Unimed team, we agreed to reset the baseline to 2025 and build it from complete data.
A full footprint
We collected data across every relevant Scope 3 category, from supplier spend and inbound and outbound freight to employee commuting and waste, alongside Scope 1 and 2, to build a complete footprint.
CRP, report and dashboard
We produced the PPN 006 Carbon Reduction Plan and Carbon Impact Report, walked the team through both, and turned their revisions around quickly until the plan was signed.
The 2025 Baseline
The baseline covers 1 January to 31 December 2025. As a distributor, almost all of Unimed's footprint (99.85%) sits in Scope 3, in the products it buys and ships.

Looking Ahead
Unimed has committed to Net Zero by 2045, with a 20% reduction by 2030 as its first milestone. With a complete baseline in place, each year's PPN 006 now measures real progress against it.
